The Archer House River Inn opened in 1877. The Inn is a grand 4-story red brick building featuring French Second Empire architecture and is situated on the banks of the Cannon River at the center of historic downtown Northfield. The Archer House River Inn is just 45 minutes south of Minneapolis and St. Paul. The Inn is surrounded by Restaurants and Pubs, Bookstores, Antique Shops, Clothing Stores, Galleries and Gift Shops. The hotel is three blocks from the Carleton College campus and 1 mile from the St. Olaf College Campus. The Inn features 36 Guest Rooms and Suites including Cozy (16), Large (11), Executive Rooms (5) and Two Room Suites (3).
